Karen has been working for Steve since 2007, starting at Yarmouth Boat Yard in the Service Department. There she handled everything from scheduling to warranty and billing to parts. In 2014, Karen began working at Moose Landing Marina in the Office Manager position handling bookkeeping, human resources, and accounts payable, along with many other duties. Now she is the Chief Operations Officer for all of Marina Holdings businesses.

Karen grew up and remains living in Cumberland with her husband, 2 children, 1 dog, and 2 cats.

Jason Allen grew up in beautiful Cape Elizabeth, Maine, in a family of boaters. Being in and around boats is all he’s ever wanted to do. Building trusting relationships with our clients and following through on promises is what Jason does best. “Getting to know the customers on a personal level and having them know that we are doing the job right the first time is our priority,” says Jason.

Jason enjoys spending time on the water with his beautiful wife and daughter, volunteering for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Portland and coaching basketball. Jason and his family are also active members of Opportunity Farm and the Ronald McDonald House. In addition to many accomplishments, Jason received the Fire Fighter Captains Award in 1998 & 1999.

What would be absolutely impossible for Jason to give up - other than his beautiful family? Laughter. Seldom will you see Jason without a smile on his face.

Will Monson has been boating with his family since he was five. With a plethora of boating memories, an affinity for sport yachts and a passion for sales, Will simply wanted to be on the water and give people the chance to do the same.

Will is an active member of the local community and enjoys giving to the March of Dimes.

When Will isn’t at work you may find him boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire in the summer or snowmobiling around his residence in Maine in the winter.

Gary Jackson and his family have shared a love for Maine for over four decades. Their cottage on Thompson Lake has been the family center, enjoyed by friends, kids and now grandkids! Gary and Bonnie raised their family in Douglas, Massachusetts, in the home they built together in 1984.

A constant in all their lives has been summers at the lake. When the sales position at Moose Landing Marina opened up, that allowed them to head north and live “the way life should be” year-round. The biggest joy for Gary at the marina, is seeing the look on a customer’s face when they are behind the wheel of their new dream. The beginning of a great adventure! It’s all about finding that balance between work and family, and boating is an experience every family should have.

When not working, Gary can be found out on the water, soaking up the sun and fresh air.

You could say that Mike has grown up at Moose Landing. “Working here is like family to me,” he notes smiling. As a high school student, Mike worked at the Moose Landing Boat Rental at Point Sebago over the summers. After graduation, he transitioned to the marina, where his skills and responsibilities have steadily grown. Over the years, his job roles have included assisting in the rental shack, to rigging, to detailing, to advanced mechanical installs, to new and used boat delivery coordination, to his current position as delivery captain.

A Casco native, Mike enjoys boating in the summers and once the snow flies, you can find him snowmobiling. 

Born and raised in South Portland, Maine, Derek has spent his entire life on the water. A retired U.S. Coast Guard Captain, Derek dedicated over 20 years to saving, assisting, and educating mariners and recreational boaters in some of the most hazardous waterways.

His technical abilities in seamanship reached a milestone in April 2011, when he was awarded Coast Guard Surfman number 455. This prestigious honor is only bestowed upon the most highly trained and skilled boat handlers who are qualified to operate rescue boats in unpredictable and treacherous breaking surf conditions. It recognizes his technical proficiency in boat handling, sound leadership, and judgement.

In addition to being a USCG Licensed Captain, Derek is also a certified instructor for both the National Safe Boating Council and US Powerboat Handling courses.

In June 2022, Derek joined the Marina Holdings LLC team, taking on the role of Director of Training for Freedom Boat Club of Maine and Maine Boating Academy. With his nearly three decades of boating experience and exceptional training style, Derek helped boaters of all calibers gain more confidence and greater skills on the water.

Derek shifted over to Sales in 2024. He enjoys helping people find the boat that best fits their lifestyle and budget. 

Tracy Coughlin joined the Yarmouth Boat Yard team in June of 2016. With over 25 years of marketing experience, she assists all Marina Holdings entities, including Yarmouth Boat Yard, Moose Landing Marina, Freedom Boat Club of Maine, Maine Boating Academy, Sea Tow Portland/Midcoast, Portland Sea Taxi with their marketing, PR, and promotion efforts.

When not working, you can find Tracy running, gardening, or enjoying the Maine coastline by land or by sea. 

A Portland, Maine native and a golf and kayaking enthusiast, Emily resides in the Lakes Region with her partner, daughter, and stepson. Her home is completed by my two beloved dogs, Beaumont and Lou.

Having graduated from Deering High School in Portland, she pursued her love of the sciences at Beal University in Bangor for a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. She then discovered a passion for finance and became a senior loan officer, bookkeeper, and accountant before coming onboard with Marina Holdings as a Controller. Emily also currently holds a Notary Public commission in the State of Maine.

Shannon joined the busy sales department at Moose Landing to assist with internet sales efforts. Since then she has advanced to assist customers with their boat financing needs. When not busy helping customers buy boats, she enjoys traveling and taste testing new craft beer offerings. 

Originally from Dover, New Hampshire, Scott joined Moose Landing Marina in September of 2018 as a Marine Mechanic in our service department. With over 23 years of experience, Scott has earned certification as a Mercury MerCruiser Master Technician as well as certifications in Volvo Penta and Mercury outboard. When asked about his favorite aspect of the job he states, “I love fixing complicated problems.”

When not at the marina, Scott enjoys boating and fishing with his wife and two kids. An avid sports fan, his favorite thing to watch is his son’s hockey team. He assists with the group as a youth hockey coach and team administrator. He also can be found cheering on the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots.

Mark Oliver is originally from the Jersey Shore and has always camped in Maine during the summer. Having an affinity of the great outdoors of Maine, Mark and his wife relocated in 2010. Mark has been working in the boating industry for over 30 years. He started pumping gas at the family marina when he was a kid and moved into operations receiving certifications in Mercury, Volvo, Glastron and Service training.

Mark is best known for diagnosing service issues and he has a passion for helping people enjoy boating “because it’s supposed to be fun!” Mark says.

You may find Mark and his wife, Glenna, snow skiing at Sunday River.

Bob grew up in Naples and after moving away to Michigan for a while, he chose to return in 2004 to raise his family. He spent 30 years as a PGA Golf Professional, working in Maine, Florida and Michigan before coming aboard with Moose Landing Marina.

When not working, Bob can be found spending time outdoors boating, hiking, skiing, and of course golfing. He also enjoys cooking and baking for his wife and two children.  

Michael has worked for Moose Landing in various capacities for several years. While he did explore career opportunities elsewhere for a while, we are happy he has returned.

A skilled technician, Michael is comfortable fixing almost any kind of machinery and is Indmar Marine Engine certified. Son of fellow employee, Mr Afthim Sr, Mike lives in Naples.

A lover of all kinds of outdoor activities, when not working, you can often find him boating or surfing, or exploring New England on his motorcycle.

Andy brings various skills from working in numerous industries to the team. Always willing to learn and priding himself on his punctuality got him where he is today.

He is always there to lend a hand, whatever the task maybe, and known to accomplish them efficiently and quickly. Keeping in constant communication with his customers, Andy makes sure they are satisfied with their boat service.

When he’s not working, Andy enjoys spending quality time with his children. 

Matt joined the Moose Landing rigging team in 2023. He attended Windham High School and graduated SMCC for Marine science. As an avid outdoorsman, Matt is scuba certified and holds an active Captains license.

Joshua King joined Yarmouth Boat Yard in 2014 as a mechanic technician then later transferred over to work at Moose Landing. Originally from Maine, Joshua had a passion for working on the water and enjoyed trouble-shooting as Moose Landing's marine mechanic. When not servicing boats, Josh could always be found outdoors, snowmobiling, four-wheeling or fishing. 

Tragically, Josh died unexpectedly in June of 2017. A beloved member of the crew, Joshua was a friendly, genuine soul who was well liked by all. He leaves behind a huge hole that will be impossible to fill and will always be a honorary part of the Moose Landing Marina crew.
